4th Grade Gift Tradition
Paw Prints & the 4th Grade Gift Tradition
Each year, the 4th grade community collects funds for school improvements that will benefit the school for years to come.
We are in the process of finalizing this year's gift. We'll be selling "paw prints" for $1 every day next week. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, friends, neighbors - anyone can kick in a few dollars! Even friends and siblings in other grades can choose to honor a 4th grade buddy by buying a paw! The paw prints will be displayed on the wall next to the library with the name of the donor and honoree.
Mr. High's Class Cheers for Technology
Check out the great video Mr. High's 09-10 class made! Thank you to everyone who viewed and rated our eInstruction video contest entry. We unfortunately did not make finals with our video.
Click here to view the class making their fun pitch for technology in the classroom. We are having technical difficulties uploading it to Teacher Tube. This is a temporary location hosted by a PPE parent.
We are super proud of our 4th Grade PPE Tigers and parents who helped make this possible! It was definitely a huge learning experience. We have a wonderful class, and we look forward to what the future holds for them!
Welcome to fourth grade at Percy Priest!
As the “seniors” of the school, fourth graders experience a wide variety of activities that help begin to make the transition to middle school. Throughout the year, they are introduced to a wide variety of learning strategies that they can place in their educational “tool belt.” This tool belt will be loaded full of ideas to help them succeed throughout their educational career as they progress onto higher education.
Strategies such as study tips, memorization techniques, and communication skills are all placed inside the tool belt to help them become lifelong learners. Fourth graders experience hands on activities that help learning become more realistic. Field trips such as Mammoth Cave, The Hermitage, and Ripley’s Aquarium “Sleep With The Sharks” are just a few of the experiences that will soon become lifelong memories.
Throughout the year, the Percy Priest Fourth Grade Family works together to build school unity and spirit throughout the school. They are the leaders of the school and therefore receive responsibilities such as leading the morning announcements, serving on the student council, and mentoring younger students in the reading process. We look forward to having your student join us on our journey through fourth grade.
