This is a copy of our invest brochure to be used as a resource for other schools looking to produce similar as a fundraising resource. Our theme changes yearly. This year we had a "Flat Stanley" approach with a spirit store magnet. Copy, photos, design and print production was all handled by PTO parents, donating professional services. And each year the printing is either donated or partially donated.
Brochure specs:
8 1/2 x 14 with 3 of the 14inches is a perforated donation card.
3pt C1S Paper (We usually ask the printer for whatever they have on the floor that can be donated)
Printed 4 color offset on coated side, black and white on back side.
(You may price digital. Do not be afraid to shop around!)
Budgeted cost: $450 for 600 brochures
It is also possible to word the brochure so it can do double duty as a promotional piece for prospective parents or an open house. By doing so you just tear off the perforation or you produce more on the print run without the perf. or even do the print run, change the black and white copy side to open house copy and you can actually produce 500 more for 1/3 of the cost of doing a separate print run.
Our INVEST committee consists of two types of organizer. Those that promote and those that keep track of the donations. If you can recruit a CPA parent or a parent who works in banking it helps your credibility.
We launch the campaign within the first month of school. Planning on the brochure is done over the Summer.
