FROM THE PPE PTO

This is a record breaking year for PTO memberships! We currently have 568 members and we thank each and every one of you for joining and supporting your PTO. The past two school years we have had memberships in the 500s, and back in 2002-2003 our membership was only from 323-475 strong. Thanks to Michele Buffler for coordinating our membership drive this year!

We would also like to thank our Family Picnic chairs, Mandy Gauldin and Kelly Dillon as well as all of the volunteers who made the evening such a success. What a wonderful opportunity to meet new friends and classmates and visit with old ones. It seemed like a record breaking crowd! If you took photos that evening and are willing to contribute, please send your pictures to Colleen Neel so we can update the PPE website slideshow with photos from this event.

FROM THE PPE FACULTY AND STAFF:

From Mrs. Williams

As you probably know, we have a large number of car riders at PPE. Last Friday morning we counted approximately 200 cars between 7:40 and 8:00 a.m. It is absolutely necessary for everyone to be alert and attentive during morning arrival. If you are uncertain about any of the policies and procedures, please review them on our website . I want to emphasize that never, under any circumstances, should cars pass other cars in the drop-off lane for the safety of all our precious PPE tigers. Please remind your children to have all bags, backpacks and lunchboxes ready when departing from your vehicle. I appreciate your help and cooperation.

Save the Date! September 15 is Go Casual for the Kids Day. Students will be allowed to wear jeans and a standard attire shirt that day in exchange for a voluntary small donation in support of the Children's Miracle Network at Vanderbilt Children's Hospital.

Enjoy your three day weekend! Go Vandy! Go Vols! It’s football time in Tennessee!

Your Partner in Education,

Mrs. Melinda Williams
