Spanish News Fall 2011
Over the next few weeks in Spanish class your child will be learning about The Days of the Dead, a holiday celebrated in parts of Mexico and Latin America at the end of October through the beginning of November.

We will be reading stories about the celebration, producing traditional artwork, tasting “pan de muertos”, and discovering that The Days of the Dead celebration is a jubilant and festive celebration, a time for happy memories of loved ones and not of scary stories. You can find more information about The Days of the Dead at www.cheekwood.org, as well as, the times and date of the local fiesta. - Mrs. Trujillo

Bienvenidos a la clase de Espanol en Percy Priest!

Welcome to Spanish class at Percy Priest!

The goals of the PPE Spanish program are to expose your child to a foreign language, to create an awareness of other languages and cultures, and to make his/her encounter with a second language an enjoyable experience. Weekly activities include acting out commands given in Spanish, role-playing, singing songs, listening to books, and playing games.

Students are constantly using all of their senses in the learning process. Concepts are introduced through an informal classroom structure that encourages social interaction. Lessons focus on daily life around us, allowing the students to acquire Spanish in a fun and natural way.

Thanks to the generous donations from the PTO, all students grades K-4 participate in Spanish classes one time per week!
