Weather Policy / Snow Days

What happens if we get a snow day?
Please review the weather procedures on the Metro website. If it snows overnight MNPS will activate the call out system to notify families between 4 and 5 am by phone that school will be closed. All normal media notifications as well as the MNPS website will have the closure posted.

What if it snows during school?
In the event of early dismissal during school hours families will also be notified via call out by Principal Williams and normal media posts. Details will also be posted on the PPE Website and an email blast will be sent. As with any dismissal, follow normal dismissal procedures for all car riders, bus riders and walkers. Please do not call the school for school closing information. This creates a potential safety issue if all phone lines are in use.
