Thank you so much for showering us with love and appreciation this week. We felt so cared for and pampered. THANK YOU! 🙂
Thanks also to Ms. Carlee Watson for taking excellent care of Mrs. Snyder’s third graders for the past several months. We’ll miss you Ms. Watson! Welcome back, Mrs. Snyder!
A few dates to remember:
- May 14–PTO meeting
- May 23–Last day of school (Half Day)
Here is what we’ll be up to this week:
ELA: We will be completing your child’s TLA (Text Level Assessment). This will help us to gain a better understanding of just how much your child has grown this year in Reading. In addition, we will continue MAP testing. We are continuing our Social Studies “gap units”. Our focus for next week will be on the Thirteen Colonies. Finally, we will continue Phonics as usual next week.
MATH/SOCIAL STUDIES: We will begin a Marketing Project this week. This is an exciting way to end the school year. Students will be put in cooperative groups and will be in charge of creating, developing, and marketing a new candy for the “Green Hills Movie Theatre”. This project requires students to delegate tasks, work cooperatively, stay on a budget, and create a company name, logo, slogan, product, prototype, billboard, and commercial.
You can expect your child to be assessed on the following items:
- Thirteen colonies
- Marketing Project.
As always, please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
