Thanks to the generous support of the Percy Priest PTO, students will enjoy a 5 de mayo celebration in the Tiger Café on Monday, May 6. Latin singer, Luna Morena, will play music in the café during lunch (10:35-1:05). The café will serve beef and chicken tacos, black beans and fiesta rice, and all students may enjoy chips and salsa regardless of whether or not they eat from the Tiger Café serving line.

Students are allowed to wear traditional Latino outfits. Girls may wear traditional Mexican clothing, such as festive or brightly colored skirts or dresses. Boys may wear ponchos, Mexican shirts, Mexican soccer jerseys and sombreros. Students who choose to not dress up must wear standard school attire. If they are wearing standard school attire, I have encouraged them to wear the colors of the Mexican flag: red, white, or green!

Parents are invited to join their child for lunch for this festive event. Please check with your child’s classroom teacher to confirm their scheduled lunch time.

I will need help setting up before lunch starts, serving chips and salsa to the students and cleaning up after the event. Please click the Sign-Up Genius link below if you are interested in volunteering to help!
