3rd Grade News: 1/8

Hello families!
We hope that you all had a wonderful and restful Winter Break. Welcome back to virtual school!

There will be one big change for this third semester of third grade. Starting this week, your child will be required to attend Tiger Time 5 days a week. Students in intervention will continue attending intervention with their assigned teacher. Students in enrichment will attend Tiger Time with their teacher on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays; they will continue attending enrichment on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. For all other students, they will attend Tiger Time with their teacher each day. During this time, your child will be working on Lexia (online reading program) and iReady (online Math program), as well as working in small groups with their teacher.

Don’t forget, January 18th is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and there will be no school.
Here is what we’ll be up to next week:
  • In ELA we are going to continue our study of animal adaptations. We will focus on animal noses and eyes, and the unique adaptations of many animals. We will also be learning about conjunctions.
  • In Math we are going to be working on word problems. We’ll start with one-step word problems and then move to multi-step problems.
  • In Science we’ll discuss ecosystems.
  • Social Studies will be asynchronous. Students will be learning about water and its benefits and challenges.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please let us know!
