Principal’s Message

Greetings Percy Priest families!

I am incredibly excited and honored to take on the role of executive principal at Percy Priest Elementary. I want to start by saying thank you to Ms. Williams and Mr. Mason for their service to our school and for their inspirational careers in the field of education. Ms. Williams has already been a tremendous help and support as I prepare to move into this new role in July.

This coming school year will be my ninth year in Nashville since moving from Southeastern Massachusetts. Nashville has become home for me and my family as my wife, Tiffany, and I were married here, and our three children, Maggie (6), Mac (3), and Goldie (1), were all born here.

We are also proud Percy Priest parents and our oldest will be a 1st grader this upcoming school year. It is a dream come true and a privilege to be able to lead and serve in the same community where we are also raising our family.

I know this is a tumultuous and uncertain time in the world of education and while we are still unsure of what the opening of school will look like this year, please know that student health and well-being will always be our top priority.

I am looking forward to officially starting and getting to know all of the staff, students, and families that make up our wonderful community.

Thank you and be well!
Russell Young, Ed. D.
