What is UniCycle?
Uniform + Recycle = UniCycle!
A Nashville Community Connections Program
Percy Priest Elementary is proud to be the founding home and one of the largest supporters of UniCycle, now a signature program of Nashville Community Connections. What began at PPE as a way to share “outgrown, not worn out” SSA uniforms has grown into a citywide effort supporting thousands of MNPS students each year.
How It Works:
UniCycle collects gently used and new school-appropriate clothing—polos, pants, skirts, coats, and more—and distributes them to students in need across Nashville. In the last year alone, more than 42,000 essential items were provided to help students feel confident and ready to learn.
PPE’s Legacy:
While our donations start here, most go to support families throughout Nashville, making a real difference for students facing challenges. Through Nashville Community Connections, Unicycle now also supports students with sneakers, sports gear, and even direct family assistance through the HERO Family Fund.
How You Can Help:
- Donate gently used (outgrown, not worn out) or new SSA items in the UniCycle bin in new school lobby.
- Participate in special drives during the school year (watch the Friday PPE newsletter for announcements on drives).
- Buy our special edition PPE Spirit Shirt—every shirt sold helps provide a uniform polo for a student in need.
- Stay connected and follow Nashville Community Connections and UniCycle on social media for updates and opportunities to help.
Thank you for helping PPE lead the way in supporting Nashville’s students!
