INVEST CAMPAIGN

Thank you for continuing to invest in Percy Priest. We will share updated numbers next week!

KIDS HEART CHALLENGE

Dear Parents and Guardians, we are proud to announce that we will be participating once again in the American Heart Association KIDS HEART CHALLENGE! For three years running, Percy Priest has been one to the top schools in the nation for learning hands-only CPR and the warning signs of a stroke. Let’s make this year the 4th!
Our goal is for 100% of students to participate in registering and watching these lifesaving videos. Once we hit 50% participation we will have a special hat day. At 75% participation we will have some “Dog Day” fun (more info to come).
Beginning on Monday, November 17th please register your child using the steps below and watch the Hands-Only CPR video and the Warning Signs of a Stroke video to earn a special PAW FINGER LIGHT.  Each student must be signed up individually and watch the videos on their own account to earn the reward. Each child who registers and watches both videos will also be added to a special wheel spin to earn prize packs throughout the duration of the  Kids Heart Challenge.
In addition, students who complete Finn’s Mission will earn a unique experience with the Nashville Soccer Club here at PPE in January with fun games, Tempo the Coyote, and a former NSC player!
Please see your child’s Friday folder for more information and sign up today at heart.org/schools or follow this direct link to Percy Priest’s home page. Please direct any questions to Mrs. Tanner at amy.tanner@mnps.org.

BOOK FAIR RECAP AND THANK YOU!

A Note From Ms. Stuart:
Dear Percy Priest Parents and Grandparents,
We had the most marvelous and memorable book fair week!
I loved seeing many of you during family night and meeting many grandparents. Watching the children shop with their grandparents is always such a heartwarming experience.
Thank you for accommodating all of your children’s book fair requests. From the desperate (and often last minute) pleas for money on their eWallets to tolerating all the hand pointers, 3D bookmarks, and posters that made their way into your homes.
We not only sold an abundance of books, but due to the generosity of the Percy Priest community every PPE student had the opportunity to shop the fair and purchase books.
Due to the success of the book fair, we will be able to purchase $15,000 worth of new books for the Percy Priest Library. So again -a sincere thank you for your kindness and for supporting your child(ren)’s love of books, reading, and story!
A tremendous thanks to Mrs. Tanner and Mrs. Davidson for their book fair tenacity and brilliance.  The intensity and amount of details during book fair make it feel like a marathon and I can’t imagine running it alongside anyone but the two of them. And thanks to the one-and-only Dr. Hasselbring for so graciously agreeing to run a register during the two Grandparents’ Days. She is one of the kindest and most competent souls on earth -her stabilizing presence brought a sense of peace to the busy shopping hours.
Another special thanks to our rockstar parent volunteers – Katie Allen, Brittany Hauck, and Gabriella Herman for the many hours they spent in the library during the week. From opening hundreds of bags to explaining the concept of money to kindergarteners, they jumped in and did it all with the utmost cheer and patience.
Much love,
Ms. Stuart

GRANDFRIENDS THANK YOU AND RECAP

Thank you so much to our teachers and staff for all of their hard work leading up to this special day. Tremendous thank you to Ms. Taylor for knocking the socks off our grandfriends and having not a dry eye in that gymnasium. Happy tears galore. This day is such a special part of our PPE community, and we couldn’t do it without all of our amazing volunteers and our event chairs Julia Saitta and Rosemary Stunkel.

You can find your student’s grade level performances here. Until next year!

LOST AND FOUND – PICK UP ITEMS BY 11/19
