Ask your 2nd Grader:
- What is the life lesson we can learn from The Legend of the Bluebonnet?
- What is a drought, famine, and a sacrifice?
- What Indian tribe is in The Legend of the Bluebonnet? (Comanche)
- If a word ends with a ‘y’, how do you make it plural? (If there is a consonant in front of the ‘y’, change the ‘y’ to ‘i’ and add ‘es’ (baby/babies). If there is a vowel in front of the ‘y’, just add an ‘s’. (toy/toys)
- What are some strategies you can use to solve 2 digit addition and subtraction problems? (pictorial model, number line, using place value, estimation)
- How would you solve 34 + 55? How would you solve 68 – 32 =?
- When you hear the question “How many more than?” in a word problem, what are you supposed to do? (subtract)
