Ask your 2nd Grader:

  • What was Dr. King’s dream? 
  • What is an adjective to describe the noun child?
  • What is the adjective in this sentence? Let freedom ring from the mighty mountains of New York.
  • What questions do adverbs answer?  (how, when, where)
  • What is the adverb in this sentence?  The children happily played together.

  • Wit and Wisdom Module 3: Civil Rights Heroes
    • Essential Question: How can people respond to injustice?
    • Focusing Question: What injustices did people face before the Civil Rights Act of 1964?
    • Text: I Have a Dream by Martin Luther King, Jr.
    • Learning Goals:
      • Examine the impact of repeated language in I Have a Dream.
      • Use an additional source to answer a question in an informative paragraph.
      • Determine the meaning of a new word formed when the prefix re- is added to a known word.
