Math: In this unit, students explore quadrilaterals! Students will develop their listening skills as we read Ocean Sunlight: How Tiny Plants Feed the Seas aloud. Collaboratively, students will chart the elements of an ocean food chain. Students will identify key details and the main idea of the text.

• Explain how scientists observe the ocean carefully to learn more about it.

• Explain why squids and sharks are important to the sea’s ecosystem.
