In this scope, students will explore multiplication and division strategies. Students will participate in various activities and explorations through which they will learn how to deepen their understanding of multiplication properties, deepen their understanding about the relationships between multiplication and division, and gain fluency in multiplying and dividing within 100.

Students will analyze John F. Kennedy’s “We Choose the Moon” speech. Students will distinguish their point of view from the speaker’s and participate in a Socratic Seminar. Students will also compare and contrast how two texts (Moonshot & One Giant Leap) describe the events of the Apollo 11 mission.
