Math:
Arithmetic Patterns
In this unit, students solve problems from the real world to identify arithmetic patterns within a number chart, addition table, or multiplication table. Students will be able to explain arithmetic patterns using their knowledge about the properties of operations.
ELA:
Focusing Question: How do artists and writers help people learn about space?
Content Framing Question: What’s happening in Pegasus?
Students will read and recount information about the mythical flying horse, Pegasus. Students will identify the elements of a myth and recognize how the story of Pegasus serves as an example of the genre. This lesson explains how ancient storytellers attempted to explain space. Students will also complete a New-Read Assessment recounting another myth.
