Math:
(Continuing) Perimeter Unit – Assessment on Wednesday
In this new scope, students will learn how to use addition to find the perimeter of polygons; how to exhibit rectangles with the same area but different perimeters; how to determine an unknown side length of a polygon if the total perimeter and other side lengths are known; and how to recognize when a problem’s solution involves finding perimeter.
ELA: Essential Question: How do people learn about space?
Focusing Question: How did the astronauts of Apollo 11 learn about space?
Content Framing Question: What do I notice and wonder in Moonshot?
We will read Moonshot, an informational text about the Apollo 11 mission to the moon. Students will preview the text and illustrations to gather observations and questions before listening to the text read aloud. Students will also examine in detail how Brian Floca uses sequence to present the events of the Apollo 11 mission.
