~The Boxcar Children
Let the adventure begin! Our 2026 Read-A-Thon kicks off Tuesday, February 17th. This year we are reading the beloved classic, The Boxcar Children. Look for FAQ sheets in today’s Friday folders.

  • Black Read-a-Thon Folders
  • Reading Logs
  • Challenge Card
  • Black Lanyards
Please Note: The folder needs to travel between home and school every day so students can log their in-school and at-home reading!

Community Meeting: TCAP Testing & Student Promotion

Families are invited to join us for an informational meeting on Tuesday, February 17th at 6:00 PM in the Community Room. During this session, we will review the current Tennessee legislation related to TCAP testing and how it impacts student promotion in 3rd and 4th grades. Our goal is to help families better understand the requirements, available supports, and what these policies mean for students.
While this topic is focused around 3rd and 4th grade students, all families are invited to attend and learn more.  We hope you will join us for this important conversation.

TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK

Each month, we put together some treats in the community room for the teachers and staff. It is a small way we can show our appreciation, and the teachers love it! You can help with this by signing up (https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C0B44A4AB2DA5FAC25-61782794-teacher) to bring treats or help set up the community room. Items can be brought on the 26th or before 10:30 on the 27th.

SAVE THE DATE FOR THE 2026 PPE AUCTION PARTY

Silent Auction: The auction catalog will have dozens of incredible items and adventures from all over Middle TN and beyond, but some of the most sought after items are the priceless memory-making outings with PPE staff. Each Grade Level will have a very limited number of tickets available for a special experience with their current grade level homeroom teacher. Other staff may offer one-on-one or small group after school outings as well, such as going for ice cream and a playground visit. Beyond these super special opportunities, students can also “win” the opportunity to name a room/area in the building for the next school year among many other special PPE Experiences. If you or your student has any ideas for something to add to auction, please email PercyPriestAuction@gmail.com.

Live Auction: Principal for a Day and Slime Dr. Young will return as in-person Live Auction items only. More details to come.

Auction Party: Tickets to PPE’s A Night of Wonder slated for April 11 from 6-11pm will go on sale VERY SOON.Tickets will be sold as a Single $150 (dinner & 2 drink tickets), Couple $300 (dinner & 4 drink tickets), and a discounted Staff $30 (current PPE staff only, dinner & 2 drink tickets). A Drink Ticket (beer, wine, mixed drink) will also be available for pre-purchase $17 (limit 2 per guest). Richland Country Club is a cash-only establishment so pre-purchasing drink tickets will reduce the need to carry cash as well as shorten wait times in line. Please limit to pre-purchasing two drink tickets per guest.

Instead of a Couple Ticket, you may consider the $500 “School Spirit Sponsor” level option as it includes admission for 2 along with 6 drink tickets for event, name & logo on a yard sign, a dedicated, expedited check-in at event, and premium access to a bar for first 30 minutes of event. This option supports PPE in a BIG way and will be found in the Sponsor section of the site once tickets go live.
