Attention Kindergarten Parents!

One of the cutest things about starting kindergarten at PPE is that the kindergarteners all carry PPE orange totes so that they are easy to spot and everyone can help them to their classrooms. This comes in handy throughout the year as our little tikes get oriented to school life.  These totes are handed out at the Sneak-A-Peek or the first day of school. We recommend getting yours monogrammed and have included information on how to do so here as well as below. The monogramming costs $20, but financial assistance is available. Please let comm@percypiest.org or Jennifer (contact info below) know if you would like financial assistance. Jennifer is happy to waive this fee.
Jennifer: 615.482.2432 or jennifertalbert@bellsouth.net
Cost: $20
Please text or email Jennifer with the following information by August 1st:

What is UniCycle & PPE’s Legacy of Giving

Did you know UniCycle—Nashville’s school uniform-sharing program—started right here at Percy Priest? Today, UniCycle is a signature program of Nashville Community Connections, supporting MNPS students and families citywide. Last year alone, UniCycle distributed over 42,000 uniforms, coats, socks, and more across Nashville. When you donate, you’re helping students all over the city feel confident and ready for school.

PPE families have always been at the heart of UniCycle’s success! While we remain one of the top contributors, most of our donations now reach students throughout Nashville, providing not just uniforms but also sneakers, sports gear, and direct family support. Thank you for helping PPE lead with kindness and impact.

Get ready—our first-ever Polo Power-Up back-to-school drive is coming soon!

SAVE THE DATE!

Join your cluster community for a kick off to the 25-26 school year!
More details to follow closer to the date, but this is a great opportunity to learn more about the schools in our cluster and enjoy our cluster community.

The 2025 Summer Reading Challenge is back!
Dr. Young and Ms. Stuart are challenging all Percy Priest students (including rising kindergartners and families) to READ 100 BOOKS and SPEND 100 HOURS OUTSIDE! This optional challenge is a great way to encourage summer reading and independence and prevent the “summer slide”. Please see your child’s Friday folder this week for the challenge card. Write the title of each book read (every 50 pages of a chapter book =1 book) and color a leaf for each hour spent outside. Your child will then turn in the challenge card at the beginning of new school year and receive a prize!
Happy Summer Reading!!

Online School Directory and Access to Class Lists

It’s time to update our online school directory! Please take a few minutes to sign in to the directory through the website or by downloading the Membership Toolkit app.

Returning families will be prompted to confirm/update your contact information and student details. New families will create a login and password, and then you can input family contact information as well as provide consent for your child’s name or photograph to be included on the PPE website and social media.
Don’t wait to log in!! Be sure to update/register your account by July 28 to get first access at your student’s class list! Once your information is updated, you’ll be all set to see your class list on July 31 — your new teacher will email you and lists will be posted later that day. Also, you will be asked for your student’s t-shirt size for field trip shirts, so be sure to log in soon so that we can get those ordered!
If you have any issues or questions at all, please reach out to Susan.Horton@healthtrustpg.com

Are you starting to think about Standard School Attire (SSA) for this school year?
Good news! The ROAR Store will be at Meet The Teacher (more details to come on date and time) this year selling SSA approved t-shirts, polos, skorts, shorts, polo dresses, and more. Not only are the ROAR store items so very nice and high quality, but it’s a great way to support the school as well. Here’s a good link for more details around SSA.
