1st Grade Newsletter – Friday April 24th, 2026

Schedule Changes due to TCAP Testing 

April 28-29-30 

Lunch: No change in time: 11:10-11:40 Admin is asking that no parents sign up  during testing to eat lunch at school. 

Recess: 12:15-12:55 

Specials: 11:45-12:15 

Tiger Time: 2:10-2:55 

April 29: Field trip to Nashville Children’s Theatre to see the play Seussical. The  cost for the field trip is $15.00 per student and can be paid at  

schoolcashonline.com. Students should wear their PPE house T-shirts, SSA  bottoms, socks and tennis shoes. We will leave school around 9:30am return  around 12:30pm.  

May 5: No School for students/PD Day for teachers/Primary Election Day 

May 6: Cheekwood field trip for Acker/Brumleve/Hartsock/This is a rain out make  up for a previously scheduled field trip from October. 

May 8: Field Day 

May 15: Field Day Rain Date 

May 13: Cinderella Ball/1:15-2:15pm Children can dress to impress or wear their best  outfit. Here are some other ideas: 

Girls: 

  • Special or fancy dress 
  • Princess costume dress 
  • Favorite outfit 

Boys 

  • Coat and tie 
  • Dress pants or khakis 
  • Button down or collared shirt 
  • Prince or knight costume (please no swords)

Children do not have to dress up. This activity is optional, but we are encouraging them to  look their best. Please keep an eye out for a signup list for needs for the event. Our room  moms and volunteers are busy preparing for this special event.
