Are you interested in getting more involved at our school? Meeting new parents and families? Supporting our teachers and staff? Then join the PTO!
Planning is already underway for the 2023-2024 school year and we are accepting nominations through April 1st for open positions on the PTO Board. Below is a listing of our open Board positions, and descriptions of those open roles.
Our Nominating Committee will provide a slate of nominees to the full Board at our May 9th meeting, and we will propose a vote on new officers at our last general PTO meeting of the year that same evening.

Vice President: The role of the Vice President is to work closely and to support the President in all PTO matters. Additionally, the Vice President oversees all First Day of school preparation, supports the New Families Committee, Room Parents and manages PTO communications. The Vice President serves on the Finance Committee, is involved in Bylaw revisions as needed, and, in general, works with the President to support all PTO initiatives and volunteers.
- This position requires some daytime flexibility (email or text communication with chairs and other executive board members during the day and meeting with committee chairs as needed).
- Attendance at the monthly PTO meetings is required.
- Some availability to be at the school may be needed on occasion.
- Recommended time commitment is two years (this position will, ideally, spend one year as the Vice President and then will roll up to President for the second year).
Assistant Treasurer: The Assistant Treasurer works with the Treasurer and the President to ensure timely reconciliation of all PTO accounts and manages the PTO budget. The Assistant Treasurer does the monthly reconciliations of the bank accounts and is responsible for picking up checks in the PTO mailbox (located in the PPE mailroom) and making the appropriate deposits. The Assistant Treasurer may also assist the Treasurer in the reimbursement process for volunteers, paying of bills, and preparation of financial statements for the Executive Board.
- This position requires some daytime flexibility (email or text communication with school staff, Executive Board members, or other volunteers) as well as the ability to pick up checks from the school bi-monthly for deposits in a timely manner.
- Attendance at the monthly PTO meetings is required.
- Recommended time commitment is two years (this position will, ideally, spend one year as the Assistant Treasurer and then will roll up to the Treasurer role for the second year).
Secretary & Vice President of Administration: The Secretary/VP of Administration records, distributes, and maintains the minutes of all Executive Board meetings, maintains the PTO’s records and membership lists, while also overseeing and maintaining all official contracts and records of the organization as required by the bylaws and by Metro. The Secretary/VP of Administration also works with the workroom staff to maintain PTO paper and supplies, as well as supports volunteers involved with 1st day supplies and folders, the Yearbook, and Membership Toolkit (the PTO family directory).

Fundraising Chair: The Fundraising Chair oversees, with the support of the PTO President and Vice President, all fundraising activities of the PTO, including Tiger Cup, Songwriters Night, Percy’s Vintage Closet, the Auction, all Small Fundraisers, etc. The Fundraising Chair provides direction and support to all fundraising committees and works directly with Metro to ensure that PPE PTO fundraisers are in compliance with Metro requirements and standards.

Community Events Chair: The Community Events Chair oversees, with the support of the PTO President and Vice President, all community events put on by the PTO, including the Fall Picnic, GrandFriends Day, Art Show, Math Night, Science Night, Percy’s Reading Party, etc. The Community Events Chair provides direction and support to all community event committees and works directly with Metro to ensure that PPE PTO community events are in compliance with Metro requirements and standards.
