School Events

Navigator Days supporting Unicycle – Feb. 24 and 25

Our very own UniCycle program is the focus of February’s Navigator Day! We’re asking for you to dig deep and give those closets an early spring clean to help spread some love and new wardrobes to students in the MNPS Homeless Education Resource Office (HERO) program.

Parents will be collecting all of your “outgrown, not worn out” Standard School Attire items in the morning car line on Thursday, Feb. 24 and Friday, Feb. 25. We need:

  • polo shirts
  • khaki, black and navy shorts, pants, skirts and dresses
  • belts and leggings

Sizes 10 and up are in especially high demand, so be sure to check older siblings’ closets as well! We also accept JEANS in adult sizes for our high schoolers (Dad golf shirts – yes, please!)

Parent volunteers are needed to help collect Unicycle donations during morning drop-off on Thurs, Feb. 24 and Fri. Feb 25 from 7:30-8:00 Meet at the PPE front doors and bundle up if it’s a cold morning. Thank you! Sign up here!

And if you’d like to check out the UniCycle headquarters and peruse a selection of “take what you want” donated Percy Priest Spirit Wear, come and visit on Friday, Feb. 25 after drop off until 10 a.m. You can bring your donations then, or give them in the car line or on the front porch beforehand and then come to see the operation and grab a fun extra SSA-approved PPE item for your student. UniCycle is located in the portable building right next to the basketball court, at the top of the blacktop ramp from the teacher parking lot.

Used Book Sale – February 22–24

The used book sale returns next week and is the best way to get your readers excited about Read-A-Thon, which begins on Feb. 25! All books cost $1 on Feb 22 and 23, and $0.50 on Feb 24. Please send cash to school in a ziplock bag with your child’s name on it.

We are still welcoming donations through Monday, including books, games and even unused art and craft sets that are appropriate for Kindergarteners through 4th graders.  Donation bins are on the PPE front porch!

The PPE Library is transformed during the two weeks of Read-A-Thon. The videos will be made into a larger video and will be posted on the PPELearn.com website once it is completed. Please submit your videos by February 25th. Thank you!
