Origami fun at home!

This week in Art, 1st grade has started their Vacation Self portraits by learning how to fold origami shirts. We had so much fun, they asked me to post the video so they can make more at home. The best three ways to become a more skilled and more creative artist are 1-Practice, 2-Practice, 3-Practice!! I hope you enjoy making these at home. You can use a square piece of 12x12 scrap book paper or a regular rectangular piece of printer paper, either will work just fine!

Acting Up!

1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th

The Acting Up musical theater program is designed for elementary school students grades 1-4. Our mission is to provide children with a creative outlet, prepare youth for real life performance experiences, and produce quality musical theater experiences.

We are so excited to offer this program at Percy Priest for the second year! We know that there are so many talented students who are already great performers. We believe that there are many others who have the potential to become incredible performers. Our program would allow students to have the opportunity to focus in on cultivating those performance skills!

Acting Up is an after–school program that brings professional musical theatre training directly to students, making it convenient for families to participate. Musical theatre is a form of theatrical performance that combines songs, spoken dialogue, acting, and dance. This program can accommodate up to 35 students and requires an audition for entry into the program. Students will meet each week with professional teaching artists, who will teach from basic to advance skills of musical theater and will culminate the year with a week of performances.
