Kindergarten News: 3/1

Hello Families!
This upcoming week, The students will continue to analyze life in America then and now. The students will review addition and subtraction. Please keep working with your student on their heart word book and return it on Thursdays. These are words the students should know by heart. Stay tuned for more updates!

Reminders:
-A peanut free snack and water bottle should be sent each day.
-We love celebrating birthdays! Students can celebrate at school by bringing in individually wrapped, prepackaged treats.
-No school Tuesday, March 5th
-Last day of Read-a-Thon is Monday, March 4th
-Half Day March 8th (dismissal at 11:30)
-Friday, March 8th: Dress up like your favorite book character (please no costumes or masks)
-Spring Break: No school March 11th-15th

ELA: How has life has changed in America?
Students will…
-Read, enjoy, and analyze literary texts and visual art.
-Analyze how transportation and communication have changed over time
-Understand how change occurs over time
-Practice reading and writing words with blends and digraphs

MATH: Review Addition and Subtraction
-Review addition and subtraction within 10
-Create and Solve additon problems
-Create and Solve subtraction problems
-Decompose numbers within 20

Social/Emotional Learning (SEL)
-Demonstrate awareness and consideration of other people’s emotions, perspectives, and social cues
-Understand why we have rules and the importance of them
-Understand the importance of sharing and taking turns
-Understand that they have control over their bodies, and there are acceptable and unacceptable actions for different situations
