YEARBOOK UPDATES!

GOOD NEWS!
Yearbooks are in and we were able to secure some extra copies. If you did not get a yearbook and would like to purchase one, please reach out to Mrs. Tanner at amy.tanner@mnps.org.
First come, first served!
Once the books are gone, they are gone. We have no way to print more.
Also, the yearbook committee is looking to expand. If you are interested in being a grade level liaison for yearbook, please reach out the Mrs. Tanner. We need at least one parent for each grade to be in charge of photographing events/field trips/parties, lunches, etc. and uploading them to our yearbook website.

TIGER DASH AND DUCK DERBY

Duck Derby: Adopt a duck (or flock!) for the May 17th Duck Derby in Otter Creek (race time around 4:20pm)! Sales open today on CausePilot and close Wednesday, May 13th or when all ducks are adopted. First and last ducks win gift certificates to Green Hills Grille and a few ducks will be chosen for goodies as well! ISO a few volunteers to help with set-up and managing crosswalk from PPE to creek. PTO GENERAL MEETING

CALLING ALL RISING 5TH GRADERS

We want to hear your ideas for making our school or community a better place. The Nashville Community Connections Service Award encourages fourth‑grade students to notice a need in their school or neighborhood and take action to help others. The award is rooted in the story of UniCycle, which began at Percy Priest Elementary in 2014 when a parent learned that more than 3,000 Nashville students are in unstable housing each year, without a home of their own. After asking what would help most, she discovered that school uniforms were a simple gap the community could fill. With one basket at one school, UniCycle began. Last year, in its tenth year, 42,000 items were distributed across the entire district.

Inspired by that beginning at PPE, this award invites students to learn about current community needs, imagine their own idea, plan how to make it happen, and consider how it can continue to make a positive impact over time.

What You’ll Do:

  • Think of a problem you’ve noticed or something that could be better
  • Come up with an idea to help
  • Make a plan for how it could work
  • Tell us why it matters to you
  • Imagine how it could keep going or inspire others

How to Apply:

  • Fill out the short application – HERE or get a copy from your teacher

Important Dates:

Applications Due: Friday, May 15; Winner announced May 21

Project Plan Due: August 1; Check‑Ins: Summer TBD, pre-Fall Break 2026, periodically as scheduled.

We Believe in Your Ideas. You don’t have to have a perfect plan — just a thoughtful idea, a caring heart, and the willingness to try. The chosen project will receive a $500 budget and planning support from the Nashville Community Connections team.
