Principal’s Message: 4/26-4/30

Hello Percy Priest families!  This is Dr. Young with some important information about upcoming school events.

Our virtual spring auction was a huge success!  Thank you to our parent chairs, all of our sponsors, and our entire community for making this such an amazing event, raising over $60,000 for our school!

This week our 3rd and 4th grade students will complete their end of year state testing with tests Monday-Wednesday in ELA, Science, and Math.  The results of this testing will provide important information on student progress and growth and will help our team inform instruction for our students.  Families please encourage your student to put forth their best effort on these exams.

The district’s Promising Scholars summer program will run June 7 through July 2 and is open to all MNPS students in grades K-12 at no cost to families.  Registration for the program is now open and will remain open through May 5th.  Percy Priest will not be a hub location, but our students will enjoy all the benefits of the program at a nearby school.  Please visit summer.mnps.org for more information.

Families please continue to help us to stop the spread of Covid-19 by remembering the following:

· Before students leave for school, families should check them for symptoms of COVID-19. If your student or someone else at home has a temperature of 100.4 or above, new cough, shortness of breath, sudden loss of taste or smell, or other COVID-19 symptoms, you must keep them at home.

·All students and staff are required to wear masks throughout their day at school.

· To protect the safety of students and staff, no visitors, including parents or guardians, will be allowed into the school at this time.

Remember to check out our PTO grade-level newsletters at https://percypriest.wpengine.com/latest-news/ for more information about upcoming school events.

Thank you and have a great weekend.
