INVEST dollars touch EVERY child

It’s Time to INVEST!

Thank you to all who have supported PPE through the INVEST campaign so far! To date, 64% of our families have joined the effort and we hope to get to 100% by Fall Break! If you haven’t supported already, please click HERE. If you can’t give at this time, please still sign on and click “I support PPE” so your child can be counted in class participation and school wide totals! Each class that gets to 100% participation will get a popsicle party. See below for the classes that are getting close! If we get to 100% school participation then there will be a special surprise with Dr. Young!

Navigator Day – October 4

Tuesday, October 4th will be our next Navigator Day.  Members of the 4th grade house Sollevare will be leading our school in a food drive challenge to collect items to support the Food 2 Families an annual food drive benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee and founded by WKRN News 2. Our collection will run October 4th-6th and there will be collection bins on the front porch, in the main lobby, and throughout the school.  Please review the attached list of most needed items and to learn more about Second Harvest please visit https://www.secondharvestmidtn.org/. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top THREE schools that raise the most items per capita in each category (high school, middle school, and elementary), so your participation really counts!

Town Hall Meeting – October 4

A.K. Tanner, our Advocacy Center Coach, will lead a conversation at PPE about helping our kids cope with big emotions. She will talk about the Advocacy Center and her role as Advocacy Coach in supporting students as they gain control of their own feelings and emotions, to create a more successful education experience.

Calling all PPE Stargazers – Science Night October 24th

Join us for an OUT OF THIS WORLD science night featuring an Astronomy Roadshow Planetarium presented by Vanderbilt’s Department of Astronomy and Physics in partnership with Dyer Observatory. October 24th in the PPE Gym. Multiple Shows will run from 5-7:30pm. Space is limited! Sign up here!

All shows will be chaperoned by parent volunteers. We encourage all other parents to join us in the hallway to enjoy refreshments while your student participates. However, it will be dark in the dome, so if your child prefers that you join, that is fine! Lap children do NOT need to be registered separately, but if adult and child would each like their own seat on the floor, you will need to reserve 2 spots. We would love to welcome as many students as possible, so we kindly ask that you only sign up for an adult spot if it is necessary! Because of space constraints and the nature of the program, please only register current PPE students at this time. Any questions contact erinkaiser2@gmail.com. Thank you!

Percy’s Reading Party – November 2nd – NEW DATE

Calling all book lovers! Mark your calendar for the first annual Percy’s Reading Party!  Bring the entire family to the PPE Café for interactive activities, crafts, illustration stations, word games, puzzles, Mad Libs, grade-level raffles, free prizes, and more on Wednesday, November 2nd from 5:30-7:30 pm during the Scholastic Book Fair.  We’ll even have a surprise guest author. Don’t miss out on the fun!

In preparation for the event, we are asking our Percy Priest parents to please fill out a 2-minute survey about reading in your household. We will compile the results and make them available to our school community so we can share tips and ideas. We hope you will participate so we can help our little Tigers become even stronger readers at home and at school!
