Kindergarten News: 10/28

Hello Families!

We are finishing up our study of the five senses. We’ve dug deep into each sense and learned so much! We continued our study of two dimensional shapes- we know circle, square, rectangle, triangle, and hexagon. This week we learned about letters n, s, f, and h. Students should be able to read and form simple words in the consonant, vowel, consonant pattern using the letters listed above and m, a, g, I, c, d, o, and t.

Reminders:
-One peanut free snack and water bottle should be sent each day.

-Please label all clothing with your student’s name. Many students have PPE Spirit wear and we want to ensure it gets home with the correct student.

-Additionally, please help your student practice buttoning, snapping, or zipping their coats independently. As the weather begins getting cooler jackets are necessary during arrival, dismissal, and recess. Students putting on and taking off coats independently is a big time saver!

-Harvest party is coming up! We are so excited to celebrate with our classes. This year guests are limited to room parents only.

-Students should come to school in SSA each day. SSA includes navy, black, and khaki bottoms. Dresses and jumpers can be any solid color. Shirts can be any solid color with a collar. PPE t-shirts and sweatshirts can be worn any day of the week. PPE athletic shorts and skorts can be worn on Fridays.

Upcoming Dates:
– October 28th- Parent Teacher Conferences, no school for students
– October 31st- Harvest Parties

PPE Scholastic Book Fair (October 31st-Nov. 4th )
It’s BACK! Our Scholastic Book Fair will take place in the library from Monday October 31st thru Friday, November 4th. It will be open for families to shop on Wednesday evening from 5:30-7:30 .
We’re encouraging families to use the Scholastic Book Fair eWallet. The eWallet is a safe and secure alternative to cash. You can create a free account and add funds that will allow your child to select books. When they come to the fair, we’ll look up their eWallet. The eWallet is a great alternative to cash.
Visit our Book Fair homepage to learn more and get started with eWallet and online shopping: https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/bf/percypriestelemschool

Students can bring their Grandparents’ and Special Friends to shop the Book Fair when they visit PPE on Thursday, November 3rd and Friday, November 4th.

If you can’t make it to the Fair, then shop at our school’s Online Book Fair. All orders ship directly to your home, and shipping is free for book orders over $25. Your online orders will benefit our school as well.

Thank-you for your help with this year’s Book Fair! Don’t hesitate to email Miss Stuart with further questions. emily.stuart@mnps.org
